Furthermore, there is the added comfort that there are no charges on your basic bank account for bounced direct debits and standing orders.

You can also set up automated transfers from your basic bank account to your prepaid credit card and you also have access to 24/7 online and automated telephone banking. You can pay cash into your prepaid card account at Payzone outlets and can also use cash and cheques to load your prepaid credit card account free of charge at Barclays branches.

Application Process

You can apply for the Secure Trust Bank Prepaid account via the Secure Trust Bank website.

Apply online – You can order online in a few minutes and you are guaranteed acceptance as long as you can prove your identity and provide proof of address.

Once your application is approved, you will receive your Telephone/online banking registration number within 3 days and you will receive your Secure Trust Bank prepaid card in 3 – 5 working days and your cards PIN within 7 days. You should also receive your Barclays paying in slips within 9 days.

Using broad

Your Secure Trust Bank prepaid card is a Mastercard prepaid credit card which means that you can use it at over 30 million worldwide locations that accept Mastercard in addition to making cash withdrawals at over 1.5 million global ATM’s.

However, the Secure Trust Bank prepaid card is only available in Sterling (GPB) which means that using your card abroad will incur a foreign exchange fee of 2.75% on POS transactions. Furthermore, cash withdrawals abroad incur a £2.25 fee. If your sole purpose is to use the prepaid card abroad, then you may wish to consider other prepaid travel money cards.
